Matteo Bandello’s Romeo and Juliet a New English Translation by Michael Curtotti Parallel English-Italian Edition

From the writer whose story that inspired the play, Matteo Bandello’s Romeo and Juliet is told by an master storyteller who knew Verona and the world that Romeo and Juliet came from personally. His story has a few surprises. This edition has the texts both in the original Italian and in English translation. The accompanying introduction and backmatter gives further background and helps readers compare the Shakespeare and Bandello versions of the story.
